For more than 10 years, the original Miroslav Library was rated as the best symphonic sounds in the world. It was used in thousands of recordings, TV shows, and films. In fact, many composers today still use this exceptional library. The Miroslav Vitous String Ensembles 2.0: Composer’s Dream is a radical update from the original 1.0 library released two years ago, and needed a website to support it.

Miroslav touched based with me about creating a website for his new library and eventually libraries. The only direction he had was the cover of the DVD. So what does a designer do in this situation? Research the competitors and sketch. That’s just what I did. I noticed that most software websites, specifically for the music industry, were organized very well. My thought was to go more simplistic and let the features really shine though. And who does that better than Apple! They were my inspiration for how the content should be laid out.

The color palette was taken from the DVD cover, a burgundy and gold scheme. I utilized a responsive CSS layout that allows the design to work very well on mobile devices. Similar to Apple’s way of presenting content, the text was a bit larger than normal and headlines were headlines. They call attention to the main idea of the short text description. Most people don’t read; they scan. With that in mind, this site is easy enough to scan through and grasp exactly the kind of quality you will receive when purchasing this product.
